The 26th year of the Sun Valley Wellness Festival will take place over Memorial Day weekend, May 26–29, officially launching the 2023 summer event season. And it will be brought to you, in part at least, by new festival board president Allison Quistgard Scherer, who is taking the reins from Geneal Thompson, as she transitions into the role of past president.

The festival is produced by the nonprofit Sun Valley Wellness Institute (SVWI), whose board and staff work to create a world-class wellness event. In handing over the leadership torch to Quistgard Scherer, Thompson remarked, “Allison is ideally suited for this new position, and I know that she will light the way for the 2023 Festival to flourish. I look forward to working with her and the directors of the SVWF Board to ignite and bring forth what we do so well.”

Quistgard Scherer has been extensively involved in wellness throughout her career. She is the founder of Sprig and Glow, a health and wellness company, and a certified Integrative Nutrition Health and Wellness Coach. She has put her cognitive-behavioral therapy training to work with WW International (formerly Weight Watchers), and her talents and hard work have contributed to her success as a journalist. She has covered and collaborated with thought leaders and experts like Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Dean Ornish, GOOP, and more. Her interests are as far-reaching as regenerative agriculture, healthy food in hospitals and schools, and traveling to the “Blue Zones” to research longevity. Allison has studied and researched for over twenty years all forms of functional and alternative approaches to healing.
