To provide staff an opportunity to receive safety training, Blaine County School District has pushed back the start date for all students for the 2022-23 school year. The new start date will be Thursday, Sept. 1.

According to the district, the safety training will provide staff with the knowledge and resources they need to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for students throughout the school year. Law enforcement and the district’s information technology team will also be involved in the training.

“We truly appreciate the flexibility and understanding of our families and community as we make this change so that we can provide our staff with an important safety training ahead of the school year,” said Jim Foudy, superintendent. “We know that this change will cause some inconveniences for some of our families. We apologize for any challenges that may result, but we wanted to inform our families as soon as possible.”
