The 4,000-square-foot downtown Hailey building commonly known as Copy & Print is getting an original name. The City of Hailey and the Hailey Public Library have announced that the public has chosen Hailey Town Center West as the official name for the old Copy & Print building which the city purchased in August 2021. The building is adjacent to and directly west of the city hall/library building. It once housed the Hailey post office and, until recently, was occupied by Copy & Print.

According to the library’s spokesperson, Kristin Fletcher, the first round of voting saw more than 60 suggestions for a new name. Fletcher said a small committee that included mayor Martha Burke, city administrator Lisa Horowitz, librarian Caitlyn Mills and herself reviewed the list and identified general themes. From there, they narrowed the list down to six for a second round of voting which had more than 130 responses.

“The public was truly involved in this process. In the end, the clear winner was Hailey Town Center West which, surprisingly, had been our working name,” Fletcher said.

Already a variety of community groups have utilized the space for meetings, training, classes, presentations, and more. Hailey Town Center West is located across from the library at 116 S. River Street in Hailey. For more information, contact the library at (208) 788-2036 or visit www.haileypubliclibrary.org.
