On Tuesday, Oct. 12, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a person lying in the road on State Highway 75 at Golden Eagle Drive.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found Dylan James Von Heuring, age 30, of Triumph, deceased in the roadway. Crime scene investigation, debris found at the scene, and Von Heuring’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The initial evidence at the scene indicates Von Heuring was likely walking in the northbound lane of travel at the time of the collision.
An accident reconstruction expert with the Idaho State Police is working with the Sheriff’s Office deputies to further the investigation. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene, but both the vehicle and the driver were located a short time later.
No further details are being released at this time as the case remains under investigation.
