Skiing The Kamchatka Peninsula

Mike Hattrup, a Ketchum AMGA [American Mountain Guides Association] ski guide, will lead a unique skier’s journey of this Unesco World Heritage zone, a remarkable landscape on the Pacific’s Ring of Fire. This large and sparsely settled volcanic peninsula lies on the far eastern edge of Russia, jutting out into the Pacific Ocean north of Japan. Tickets ($15) will be sold at the door. All proceeds will benefit Sawtooth Avalanche Center.

Snowshoe With A Ranger

Free weekly Snowshoe with a Ranger tours run through March. Participants will meet on the porch of Galena Lodge before taking a 1.5-mile, 2-hour tour exploring the history of mining at Galena Lodge and the winter ecology and tracking of the snowy landscape. ‘Peter And The Starcatcher’

The Sun Valley Community School Players will stage the five-time Tony Award-winning play, “Peter and the Starcatcher,” based on the best-selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Featuring 30 upper-school students, the play is a wild take on the century-old story of Peter Pan and provides audiences with a humorous backstory for the infamous characters of Peter Pan, Mrs. Darling, Tinker Bell and Hook. Get ready for pirates, kings and queens, mermaids, and jungle tyrants. The cast features Shea Brokaw as Black Stache, Charlie Coulter as Peter, and Julia Ott as Molly Aster. Howland began selling the first mass-produced Valentines in America. Though the holiday is associated with romance, it’s a grand day to celebrate all the love there is, including for your family, friends, neighbors, communities and the environment.

Winter Tracking Workshop

The final ERC Winter Tracking Workshop with Ann Christensen will begin at the ERC office at 471 Washington Ave., Ketchum, before heading outside on a snowshoe tracking adventure through the fields and woods north of Ketchum. Skijoring

Produced by the Wood Extreme Ski Joring Association (WRESJA), this event will feature cowboys and cowgirls with their fast horses racing with brave skiers and snowboarders. This year there will be a couples division and stick-horse races for 10 & under. Admission fee is $5 per spectator, children 12 and under are free, and a portion of the fees will be donated to the Wood River High School Rodeo Team. Bring lawn chairs but no dogs. Smokey Bone BBQ will have food for sale. There will be a raffle at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Mahoney’s in Bellevue and an awards party Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at 7 Fuego restaurant.
