Neighbors Helping Neighbors/Crisis Hotline invites you to participate in the St. Luke’s and Mental Well-Being Initiative survey. It’s so important for our Valley and Blaine County as a community to share feedback about the effectiveness of the resources and the state of the Valley. Your recommendations and perspectives are crucial. It helps direct support, and guides and advises the mental health community and its policies.
With that, we are specifically focusing on our Hispanic Latino America community to better engage them in the survey. Last time the survey was offered, we had a low response. The numbers where like 80% whites and 20% Latinos. That is unacceptable and it does not represent our community. This year is going to be different; we are actively participating and mobilizing the Hispanic leadership. We are supporting this important survey directly and strategically. We have the backing of the Mental Well-Being Initiative and other key organizations. Latinos will be informed, educated and get technical support on filling out and completing the survey.
We know that many of you have friends and family members and know a neighbor that you could share the survey and help them with it. Many times I’m asked, ‘Romero, what can I do to help during this difficult time?’ My answer is not just about money or ideas but taking the time to do the survey together as one. You’d be amazed at the impact you will have on that individual. By informing, explaining the questions and, most of all, listening—learning from them—it will help you lead them on the right path. You will also reconnect in a meaningful way!

La línea directa de ayuda a vecinos/crisis le invita a participar en la encuesta de St.Luke y la Iniciativa de Bienestar Mental. Es muy importante para nuestro valle y el condado de Blaine como comunidad compartir comentarios sobre la eficacia de los recursos y el estado del valle. Sus recomendaciones y perspectivas son cruciales. Ayuda a dirigir el apoyo, guiar y asesorar a la comunidad de salud mental y sus políticas.
Con esto nos estamos centrando específicamente en nuestra comunidad hispana latinoamericana para involucrarlos mejor en la encuesta. La última vez que se realizó la encuesta tuvimos una respuesta baja. Las cifras eran como 80% blancos y 20% latinos. Eso es inaceptable y no representa a nuestra comunidad. Este año va a ser diferente, estamos participando activamente y movilizando el liderazgo hispano. Apoyamos esta importante Encuesta de forma directa y estratégica. Contamos con el respaldo de la Iniciativa de Bienestar Mental y otras organizaciones clave. Los latinos serán informados, educados y recibirán apoyo técnico para completar la encuesta. Sabemos que muchos de ustedes tienen amigos, familiares y conocen a un vecino con quien podrían compartir la encuesta y ayudarlos con ella. Muchas veces me preguntan, Romero, qué puedo hacer para ayudar en estos tiempos difíciles. Mi respuesta no es sólo cuestión de dinero o ideas, sino tomarse el tiempo para hacer la encuesta juntos como uno solo, te sorprenderá el impacto que tendrás en ese individuo. Informar, explicar las preguntas y sobre todo escuchar, aprender de ellas te ayudará a guiarlos por el camino correcto. ¡También te reconectarás de manera significativa!
