Our poodle, Stanley, was named after Stanley, Idaho, and was our first dog together as a couple. After 17 years of fun and adventure, he finally succumbed to old age.
His black-and-white spots made for an outstanding profile. He was lightning fast and mischievous. On occasion, he would get loose and no one could catch him (not even the police that once tried) and only returned home once he tired out. He could jump and open doors and no electric fence could ever hold him. At times, his energy was too much, like when he lunged at a waitress who sought safety in the restaurant fountain (now the fountain has a gate around it because of Stanley).
We will miss him chasing lizards and his wrestling matches with the pool hose. He enjoyed every minute of life and we enjoyed being along for the ride.
