The fourth annual Cesar Chavez event is coming up on March 31 at the Liberty Theatre. Eduardo Chavez, Cesar Chavez’s grandson, will be doing a presentation through Zoom before the screening of his film, “Hailing Cesar” talking about the film and the importance of the work Cesar Chavez did.
Born in 1927, Cesar Chavez was a labor leader and civil rights activist alongside Dolores Huerta who made a powerful appearance last year at the Wood River High School. He co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers labor union after merging with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee. Cesar Chavez died in 1993.
This event is in partnership with PROJECTOOLSUCCESS, The Crisis Hotline in Idaho, the Liberty Theatre Company. This event will also promote Earth Day alongside the Climate Action Coalition and the transfer station to coordinate a community service event.

El cuarto evento anual de César Chávez se llevará a cabo el 31 de marzo en el Liberty Theatre. Eduardo Chávez, nieto de César Chávez, estará haciendo una presentación virtual antes de la proyección de su película, “Hailing Cesar” hablando sobre la película y la importancia del trabajo que hizo César Chávez.
Nacido en 1927, César Chávez fue un líder sindical y activista de derechos civiles junto a Dolores Huerta, quien hizo una poderosa aparición el año pasado en la escuela secundaria Wood River. Cofundó la Asociación Nacional de Trabajadores Agrícolas, que luego se convirtió en el sindicato United Farm Workers. después de fusionarse con el Comité Organizador de Trabajadores Agrícolas. César Chávez murió en 1993.
Este evento se realiza en asociación con PROJECTOOLSUCCESS, The Crisis Hotline en Idaho, Liberty Theatre Company. Este evento también promoverá el Día de la Tierra junto con la Coalición de Acción Climática y la estación de transferencia para coordinar un evento de servicio comunitario.
