The Valley had a hand in the 133rd Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day. Musically, that is. Wood River High School senior Brandon Enders and freshman Orrie DeShields were part of the Band of America. The honor band is invited to march in the Rose Parade every four years and brings together top high school musicians from around the country. Its 300-plus members represent schools from all 50 states to collaborate with an all-star faculty of instructors from some of the finest high school band programs in America. This national honor band gives every high school band student in the country the opportunity to audition for a performance spot. Enders and DeShields are the first Idahoans to participate in the band.
