Dark Sky Reserve

The Idaho Conservation League will hold a talk on the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve. Hear more about how this reserve is preserving and enhancing the region’s superior nighttime ambiance and how it is benefiting our health, environment and economy. Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center will present the 509 Snowmobile Film Premiere of “Chasing the Endless Season” and raffle. The Mint will open at 4:30 p.m. for food and drink. Event tickets are $10 at the upstairs door beginning at 6 p.m. with movie starting at 7 p.m. Kids 12 and under are free. The raffle drawing will follow. The Mint is located at 116 South Main Street. ‘Two Trains Runnin’’

The Grammy-nominated documentary “Two Trains Runnin,’” directed by Sam Pollard and narrated by Common, pays tribute to a pioneering generation of musicians. Running time is 1 hour and 22 minutes. The annual Hailey Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony will be held at the Blaine County Courthouse Christmas tree at the corner of 1st Avenue and Croy Street. Hailey Mayor Fritz Haemmerle will be on hand to light the tree.

Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar

The 28th Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar, at Hemingway Elementary, is a juried art show featuring handcrafted goods from more than 70 vendors from across the Intermountain West. There will be a soup café and Starbucks coffee, holiday raffle with more than 40 items, and business services. Santa will visit for photos from 1-2:30 p.m. both days.
