The City of Hailey and the Hailey Public Library are inviting the community to help rename the old Copy & Print building, located at 116 South River Street, which the city purchased in August 2021. The 4,000-square-foot building is adjacent to and directly west of the city hall/library building. It once housed the Hailey post office and, until recently, was occupied by Copy & Print.

“The old Copy and Print building needs a new name to match its new purpose as a community gathering place,” Lisa Horowitz, city administrator, said. “We need the community’s help. What should we name it?”

The first phase of the naming contest runs from May 19 to June 3. The public is invited to jot suggestions on a ballot and drop them into voting boxes located at both Hailey Public Library and Hailey City Hall. Final voting for the top four to six suggestions will run from June 13–27, again at both the library and city hall. The winning name will be announced on the Fourth of July.

‘Hailey Town Off Center’ anyone?

‘Pound’s Town Hall’ perhaps?

Hey, if Ketchum gets to claim Hemingway, why can’t Hailey have Ezra Pound? He was born here, after all, and fascist for only a limited time. Pound also committed more admirable acts, discovering T.S. Eliot, James Joyce, and some young American veteran in Paris named Ernest.
