Flying Rock Causes Injury Accident

On Thursday, May 12, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single motor vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 26 near Lava Lake Road and the Blaine County/Butte County line.

Crash scene investigation determined that Daniel Robert Wallace, age 22, of Sterling, Virginia, was driving a blue 2019 Dodge Ram truck westbound on Hwy. 26 when a rock fell off a gravel truck driving eastbound in the opposite lane. The rock flew directly through the front windshield of the Dodge and struck Wallace’s passenger in the right shoulder. Alexis Ann Krupa, age 24, also of Sterling, was transported by ground ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The Dodge was driven from the scene.
