Dear friends and neighbors,
OUR VOICE COUNTS
Once again we had the presence of ICE in our community. Fear is back in town. Families are concerned not just for themselves but for other family members, friends and neighbors. We have to continue with the message of faith in our local system, courage to stand together as one voice—a voice of respect and commitment to our fellow hardworking families.
We appreciate the work of our key leaders and concerned community members. Let’s not forget that our Hispanic/Latino community contributes a lot to this Valley. That includes our I’Mmigrant families. Let’s not forget that they are a key segment of this Valley. They take care of homes and children and are here to give, not just to take. They pay taxes in every aspect and no return for their financial contributions. They are taken advantage of and their rights are violated. Many have stayed and made sure to go all the way with the legal process of becoming a resident and eventually a contributing citizen.
Lastly, I thank my parents for bringing me to this beautiful and brave country and that my grandma, aunts and uncles migrated from El Salvador fleeing the civil war of the ‘80s and became American citizens. This country is made of positive, hardworking families from South and Central America, and Mexico cultura!

Estimados amigos y vecinos:
NUESTRA VOZ CUENTA
Una vez más, tuvimos la presencia de ICE en nuestra comunidad. El miedo ha regresado. Las familias están preocupadas no solo por sí mismas, sino también por sus familiares, amigos y vecinos. Debemos continuar con el mensaje de fe en nuestro sistema local y la valentía de unirnos como una sola voz: una voz de respeto y compromiso con nuestras familias trabajadoras.
Agradecemos la labor de nuestros líderes clave y la preocupación de los miembros de la comunidad. No olvidemos que nuestra comunidad hispana/latina contribuye mucho a este Valle. Esto incluye a nuestras familias inmigrantes. No olvidemos que son un segmento clave de este Valle. Cuidan hogares y niños, y están aquí para dar, no solo para recibir. Pagan impuestos en todos los aspectos y no reciben nada a cambio. Se aprovechan de ellos y violan sus derechos. Muchos se han quedado y se han asegurado de completar el proceso legal para convertirse en residentes y, finalmente, en ciudadanos contribuyentes. Por último, agradezco a mis padres por traerme a este hermoso y valiente país y que mi abuela, tías y tíos emigraran de El Salvador huyendo de la guerra civil de los años 80 y se convirtieran en ciudadanos estadounidenses. ¡Este país está hecho de familias positivas y trabajadoras de América del Sur y Central, y de la cultura mexicana!
