Supporting Youth Through Community Events and Grantmaking

The Nordic Cup is one of two free annual children’s events organized by the Papoose Club to foster community and youth development. The other signature event, the 67th Annual Kindercup, will take place this year on Sunday, March 2, at Dollar Mountain.

Beyond events, the Papoose Club’s mission extends to supporting local youth-serving organizations. Each month club members review grant requests and allocate funds raised through two major annual fundraisers: the Holiday Bazaar and the Wagon Days Pancake Breakfast. At the January meeting, the club awarded $8,000 to the following programs:

  • WRHS Art Department: For materials and storage cupboards.
  • Idaho Mavericks Baseball: For travel expenses to a tournament.
  • WRMS Best Buddies Program: For program materials.
  • NAMI’s Young and Well High School Program: To support mental health initiatives.
