The Blaine County School District is inviting parents and community members to take part in a curriculum review process for its 2021-22 Arts Education and Social Studies Education programs.

Four community members will be selected to serve on a committee that will examine standards clarification and priorities, curriculum and assessment upgrades and the identification and selection of instructional materials to recommend to the BCSD Board of Trustees.

“As we take a look at our curriculum in these two important subjects, we want our families and district residents to play a key role in the process,” said Adam Johnson, BCSD assistant superintendent. “We appreciate those who are willing to dedicate their time, energy and talents to this effort.”

Those interested in serving are asked to apply by Wednesday, Sept. 8 by completing an online form. The district’s Teaching and Learning Team will select parents and community members to serve on the committee from the individuals who apply.

The Arts Committee involves a one-year commitment, while the Social Studies Committee is a two-year commitment.
