I was blessed with the opportunity to travel in Norway for about 16 days this last month. The country was beautiful, although mostly cloudy and rainy. Waterfalls exist in abundance and the country is at the same latitude as Alaska. What an adventure!!! We were on a self-guided tour so we had a plan that had been created but we had to manage getting to all the locations on the list. In one of the cities of about 55,000, it was just pouring and we needed a taxi to get to our hotel—no walking in this downpour. We shared a taxi with another couple from the States and the lady asked the taxi driver if it was always this wet. He replied, “Alsesund is a very beautiful city and God washes it clean every day.” What a concept to allow yourself to be washed clean every day. You know you can do that. It is like hitting a reset button on your thinking. You don’t pick up the same old thoughts that you finished with yesterday. You have the advantage of starting fresh and clean each moment.
I found it so interesting to totally be out of my familiar environment and to just allow whatever was taking place to be. People watched out for us at every moment. We were headed to the airport by light rail and a lovely lady pushing a baby carriage asked us if we were going to the airport. We responded in the affirmative and she explained that we were at the wrong track and needed to change locations. How beautiful to be protected and guided by angels every step of the way.
We stayed at a lovely hotel that sold honey at the front desk. The receptionist explained that the hotel had a beekeeper who kept bees on the roof. Now Norway does not have a lot of flat land and most cities are built on hillsides. I spotted the beekeeper and commented on what an amazing use of space and how wonderful it was. He explained that he had 60,000 bees on the roof and next year he would have 120,000. The man loved my interest and went and got us two pieces of chocolate cake. The whole adventure gave me the opportunity to reinvent my reality.
We had to get very comfortable with technology, downloading our passports and boarding passes onto our phones and so many other things, but we stretched and did it. We learned how to come into the current digital world without too much resistance. I suggest that if you can, give yourself a break from your normal life in some way and reinvent yourself for a period of time. It makes you feel so much younger and you get to rely on your angels and see them working in your life. What a gift.
I am so grateful for the courage to get out of my rut and stretch, trusting completely the energy we were in. Give it a try. You might like the adventure.
So many blessings, Dove
