Blaine County Recreation District (BCRD) will launch a community-wide survey on June 11 to continue gathering input from residents about their recreation priorities and aspirations. As BCRD looks to the future—and prepares for a proposed recreation levy this November—this survey will help guide planning efforts to ensure recreational facilities, programs, and amenities reflect what the community needs and values most.
The survey will open online on June 11 and remain open through June 27. All community members are invited to participate. The survey can be accessed online through BCRD’s website, e-newsletter, and social media channels.
BCRD has experienced exponential growth since its founding in 1976, yet its core funding model has remained unchanged for nearly half a century. Today, more than 1,400 youth participate in BCRD’s programs annually, with nearly one in three receiving scholarships. Community use of trails, fields, gyms, and Galena Lodge continues to grow, and the need for upgraded and expanded facilities is increasingly urgent.
This latest survey is part of a broader community engagement process ahead of the proposed recreation levy that will appear on the November 2025 ballot. The proposed levy would provide sustainable funding to maintain and expand recreational access for generations to come.
