OUR VOICE COUNTS
By the time this is published, I will have officially been working for The Spokesman-Review and Spokane Public Radio for two weeks.
In June, I accepted a full-time position to be a Murrow News Fellow through Washington State University after working at the Times-News in Twin Falls as a Hispanic life and affairs reporter.
Although it was very bittersweet for me, especially because I grew up in Hailey and have so much love for the area, I wanted to challenge myself and grow in a different community and knew this would be the best place to do it.
Through this fellowship, I will be reporting for The Spokesman-Review and Spokane Public Radio for the next two years, covering rural issues in northeastern Washington. Regardless, I hope to keep dabbling in Latino issues within Spokane.
I will also be freelancing and continuing to write remotely for the Wood River Weekly on the Hispanic community in Blaine County. With the amount of changes that have happened over the years, I believe I can continue to bring a different perspective to the issues and events going on in the area.

Para cuando esto se publique, habré estado trabajando ya oficialmente para The Spokesman-Review y Spokane Public Radio por dos semanas.
En junio, acepté un puesto de tiempo completo como miembro de Murrow News a través de Washington State University después de trabajar en el Times-News en Twin Falls como reportera de vida y asuntos hispanos.
Aunque fue muy agridulce para mí, especialmente porque crecí en Hailey y tengo mucho amor por el área, quería desafiarme y crecer en una comunidad diferente y sabía que este sería el mejor lugar para hacerlo.
A través de esta beca, reportaré para The Spokesman-Review y Spokane Public Radio durante los próximos dos años cubriendo temas rurales en el noreste de Washington. De todos modos, espero seguir incursionando en los temas latinos dentro de Spokane.
También trabajaré independientemente y seguiré escribiendo para el Wood River Weekly sobre la comunidad hispana en el condado de Blaine de forma remota.
