With much anticipation, the Hispanic Heritage Festival arrived this year with a bang as families and friends reunited in Hailey on Saturday, Sept. 18, to celebrate their culture and others.
With activities for kids and entertainment for families throughout the day, it was amazing to see the scheduling play out so smoothly.
Even though I wasn’t able to attend in person, as I am currently studying at the University of Idaho, I was able to Facetime my mom to see the people of our community get down and enjoy a day of fun.
A day like this is so important to be able to reflect on how much we have grown in Blaine County and be able to feel proud of where we come from. Not only that, but cherish gathering with others who might not be aware of certain cultural differences that we portray in our everyday lives.
As Hispanic Heritage Month progresses, so do the events in Blaine County. This was just the beginning of fun, knowledge, entertainment and intimacy within our cultures and the community. Make sure to stay tuned on what’s next!

Con la espera anticipada, el Festival de la Herencia Hispana vino este año con un bang mientras las familias y amigos se reunían el sábado para celebrar su cultura y de otros el sábado 18 de septiembre.
Con actividades para niños y entretenimiento para familias durante todo el día, fue increíble ver el plan de programación sin problemas.
Aunque no pude asistir en persona ya que actualmente estoy estudiando en la Universidad de Idaho, pude llamarle por cámara a mi madre para ver a la gente de nuestra comunidad bajar y disfrutar de un día de diversión.
Un día como este es tan importante para poder reflexionar sobre lo mucho que hemos crecido en el Condado de Blaine y poder sentirnos orgullosos de donde venimos. No sólo eso, sino que también lo apreciamos con otros que tal vez no sean conscientes de ciertas diferencias culturales que representamos en nuestra vida cotidiana.
A medida que progresa el mes de la herencia hispana, también lo hacen los eventos en el condado de Blaine. Este fue sólo el comienzo de la diversión, el conocimiento, el entretenimiento y la intimidad dentro de nuestras culturas y la comunidad. ¡Asegúrese de estar atento a lo que viene!
