Meals-On-Wheels Support Still Needed

Every March we join with organizations around the country to raise awareness and funds for our Meals on Wheels program.

Although The Senior Connection has been providing home-delivered meals for many years, 2020 showed our entire community just how essential this service is for Blaine County seniors. We now deliver over four times as many meals as we did just one year ago!

We are proud that this program not only helps seniors stay safe at home when the pandemic risk is high, but continues to provide the “hot meal, friendly face and safety check” that is the hallmark of the Meals on Wheels model.

But we could not do it without your help. When stay-at-home orders closed our building last spring in the middle of this important fundraising campaign, the outpouring of support we received to help with increased costs allowed us to serve everyone who needed it. No one was turned away or put on a waiting list.

We still need this level of support as we wait for the vaccine to move things toward normal. Our food and meal packaging costs are still double what they are historically and this campaign provides a significant portion of our yearly budget for this program.
