As we’re isolated, confined, and consumed with worry for our Wood River Valley community, many of us are seeking ways to help. While we’re all affected by the COVID-19 crisis, many local residents and businesses are facing life-changing hardship. There has never been a more important time to come together and take care of each other. In addition to following official guidelines to stay at home and practice social distancing when outside, here are ways you can lend a hand.

Donate to the organizations providing immediate support to our community.

Kraay’s Market & Garden “Love Your Neighbor” campaign helps provide a family in need with access to locally grown produce and other groceries. (Donate to the Love Your Neighbor Fund in the Kraay’s Market & Garden store: https://kraaysmarketgarden.grazecart.com/store.) The Hunger Coalition is rapidly responding to increasing demand for food assistance. When donating, add “In honor of Keller Williams Matching Gift Challenge” and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 (Donate: https://thehungercoalition.org/act/donate/). The Senior Connection is helping provide food to high-risk seniors through its Meals on Wheels program (Donate: https://seniorconnectionidaho.org/donate/).  The Sun Valley Institute and their Food and Farm Program, Local Food Alliance, are rapidly developing resources to ensure that everyone in our community is supported in this time of crisis. Support local businesses

Local businesses need our support too. Order take out from a local restaurant. The 5B Food Resources During COVID-19 (link: https://www.localfoodalliance.org/post/local-food-resources-during-covid-19), located on the Local Food Alliance website, offers an up to date guide for which restaurants are offering curbside pick up and delivery. You can also purchase a gift card from your favorite local business to use later. Contact the business directly and also you can see if they are on the website Rally for Restaurants: (https://rallyforrestaurants.com/).
