New Film Fest Program Focuses On Future
The Sun Valley Film Festival has created some new programs to encourage students, as well as families and the general public, to participate in the Festival with discounted or free access to see top indie films and some of SVFF’s most popular signature events.
SVFF Student passes, aimed at high school students, are now on sale for only $50. Community members also have the ability to gift a Student pass to a local deserving student. Visit sunvalleyfilmfestival.org/additional-opportunities for details.
A SVFF Student pass includes access to all SVFF free events plus tickets to the Screenwriters Lab and film screenings of Bull, Cosmos, Ruth, and Ready or Not, each with special filmmakers in attendance for post-screening Q&As.
“Remaining accessible to our community and providing unique learning and social opportunities are of huge importance to SVFF, and even more so when it comes to the next generation of storytellers,” said Candice Pate, Festival director.
Passes and tickets for the 2020 Festival can now be purchased at sunvalleyfilmfestival.org.

Popular Demand Forces RBG Event Venue Change
The Alturas Institute, in response to the extraordinary interest in its 2020 “Conversations with Exceptional Women” event, is changing its venue and making additional tickets available for a session featuring U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The session with Justice Ginsburg—“A Conversation with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg”—will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Sun Valley Pavilion, according to Alturas Institute President, Dr. David Adler. Tickets for this session will cost $100. Lawn seating, featuring a big screen, will cost $25.
Current ticket holders for “Conversations with Exceptional Women,” held September 1-2, at the Argyros Performing Arts Center, will bear no additional expense and will be given preferred seating at the Sun Valley Pavilion for the session with Justice Ginsburg.
“We were absolutely crushed by the expression of disappointment and frustration incurred by those unable to purchase tickets for our event, which sold out in a matter of minutes,” Adler said. “While we regret very much that we cannot accommodate anyone else wishing to attend our program at The Argyros, because seats have sold out, we hope that by shifting our session with Justice Ginsburg to the Sun Valley Pavilion, that we can provide a very rare opportunity for many others eager to hear the iconic RBG,” Adler said.
Tickets for “A Conversation with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg” will go on sale at 9 a.m., March 12, at alturasinstitute.com. Adler said he expects tickets will be sold out quickly.
