The community keeps solidifying as we honor our civil servants and dedicated citizens.
Bailiff Doug Wynn is now retired after working 32 years for the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). Wynn has been in the Valley since 1981. He worked in construction for a number of years before joining the BCSO in 1993 under the then-sheriff Walt Femling.
From Femling to Gene Ramsey, Steve Harkins and now Morgan Ballis, Wynn has seen four sheriffs and maybe seen it all. His 32-year career in the courthouse allowed him a perspective of every type of citizen and civilian you can imagine but his most beautiful statement speaks on the majority truth, “Of all the years I worked there, I never had to use any force except for maybe some kind of verbal judo.” Wynn laughs—a testament to the community and civilized safety of our Valley.
Wynn’s wife Jodie still works for the Blaine County Probation Department. That said, Wynn’s free! So what now?
“Camping, traveling and chasing around my granddaughters. I have five, so…” Wynn trails off. Job well done.
