Jenice Francis Hawley (Cassedy) was born October 12, 1954, and passed away December 22, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born in Enumclaw, Wash., and lived in Portland, Ore., before moving to Hailey, Idaho, where she thrived as a massage therapist. She later moved to Waldport, Ore., for the ocean was calling her name. She realized how much she missed the mountains of Idaho and moved back.

Jenice was an entrepreneur and created her granola business and lovingly named it Neecy’s Granola, which was her childhood nickname. She shared her joy of making and selling her granola to the community. She created her dog-sitting business, but mostly she loved doing her massage-bodywork and found it very grounding and healing for her as well as those who received her amazing bodywork. She loved exploring the mountains of Idaho, hiking and finding heart rocks and crystals. She always had her four-legged companions on her adventures. She was also a regular at the Sun Valley outdoor ice skating rink and Hailey Ice Park.

She is survived by her sisters, Judy Albriksten, Angela Cassedy, Janet Cassedy, Vickie Thomas and her brother Jim Cassedy as well as her nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of John Cassedy and mother, Joyce Whitte, and stepmother, Helen Finley.

Jenice was a spitfire and was her own advocate when it came to her own health. But the seizures for the last two years overcame her in the end and was something she could not overcome outside of her toolbox. She depended on her loyal friends, Brenda Annen (her soul sister), Terri Orr, Valdi Pace and Heather Greenwood, who were constantly there when she needed someone.

A special thank you to all the home health professionals, especially to Sophie, who went above and beyond. It does take a village and the village stepped up. You all know who you are and Jenice is eternally grateful. Many blessings to all of you and rest in peace dear Neecy.
