This chronic, painful fat disorder causes extreme buildup of fatty tissue, mainly in the hip region, upper and lower leg areas, and occurs almost exclusively in women. Deb Lister, occupational therapist and certified lymphedema therapist, will discuss the possible causes of this disease, current treatments to address the disorder and how to discuss this condition with doctors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">This event will take place in the Carbonate Rooms at St. Luke\u2019s Hailey Clinic. All Brown Bag lectures are free and no preregistration is required. Experience the magical winter landscape and learn about the fascinating history of the area with an informative and free Forest Ranger-led tour of the Galena Lodge area. Join in the adventure every Thursday at 11 a.m. on the porch at Galena Lodge. Tours will depart at 11:05 a.m., last approximately 1\u00bd hours and cover 1-2 miles. Visitors are invited to enjoy a glass of wine in the gallery and a guided tour with The Center\u2019s curators and gallery guides. Special guests Captain Taan Robrahn of the Sun Valley Fire Department and Lieutenant Brian Carpita of the Blaine County Sheriff\u2019s Office will discuss the use of drones for search-and-rescue operations in the local community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled that Captain Robrahn and Lieutenant Carpita will be joining us for this special event,\u201d said Dr. Courtney Gilbert, Curator of Visual Arts at The Center. \u201cAs first responders, they have personal experience using drones to assist with search-and-rescue operations in our area. Junkert will discuss and give video and audio examples of the operas of Giacomo Puccini, with a special emphasis on \u201cTosca,\u201d which Opera Idaho will perform in a semi-staged version on Feb. 18 at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood, Ketchum. Released in 2016 and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, \u201cZero Days\u201d deals with the frightening\u2013and very real\u2013world of cyberwarfare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">\u201cAs we were developing our BIG IDEA project \u2018Rayguns, Robots, Drones: Technology\u2019s Peril and Promise,\u2019 the renowned documentarian Alex Gibney was about to release his latest film, \u2018Zero Days,\u2019\u201d said Kristine Bretall, Director of Performing Arts at The Center. \u201cThe timing of the release of this film meshed perfectly with the project and the concept behind it. The idea that a computer program designed to take down nuclear facilities ended up backfiring with unforeseen consequences no longer is the stuff of fiction. Attendees may try out a pair of free snowshoes, or bring their own, and learn about winter ecology and animal tracking. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Tours will start at 11 a.m. Participants will meet inside the Sawtooth NRA North Fork Visitor Center (8 miles north of Ketchum on Hwy. 75) at 10:45 a.m. on the following dates: Jan. 28, Feb. 18, Feb. 25 and March 4. The goal of NSCW is to raise public awareness\u00a0around all educational options for children. Creating Theatre Props,\u201d a two-day prop-making workshop designed especially for teens. Taught by two professional theatre artists with Company of Fools, John Glenn and K.O. Ogilvie, the class will explore the magic of designing and creating a world of theatrical make-believe. The dynamic two-day workshop will be held 12-3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28 and 29, at The Center in Hailey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">A theatrical prop is defined as anything that appears on stage and is not scenery, and not a costume or a hat.
