To honor this legacy, St. Luke\u2019s Wood River is launching a year-long celebration under the theme: \u201cThe Heart of the Valley. The Height of Care.\u201d<br \/>\nThroughout the coming year, the hospital and the St. Luke\u2019s Wood River Foundation will host events and storytelling initiatives to celebrate the people, progress, and partnerships that have shaped the hospital\u2019s journey\u2014from its founding to its future.<br \/>\n\u201cTwenty-five years ago, a group of visionary neighbors came together with a dream to build a hospital that would serve this community with excellence and compassion,\u201d said Megan Tanous, chief development officer of the St. Luke\u2019s Wood River Foundation. St. Luke\u2019s Wood River Chief Operating Officer\/CNO, Almita Nunnelee, added, \u201cToday, we are proud to be recognized as one of the finest rural community hospitals in the country. This anniversary is a celebration of our team, our patients, and the community that made it all possible.\u201d<br \/>\nSince opening its doors in 2000, St. Luke\u2019s Wood River has marked countless milestones\u2014from welcoming new life into the world to providing life-changing joint replacements, preventative care, time sensitive emergency treatment, and specialty services tailored to the needs of the valley. \u201cThe hospital has grown alongside the community, always guided by a commitment to listen, respond, and lead with care,\u201d Tanous observed.<br \/>\n\u201cThis celebration is about more than looking back\u2014it\u2019s about looking ahead,\u201d said Nunnelee. \u201cTogether with the Foundation, we\u2019re working to address the growing needs of the community, to support our staff and physicians and to continue improving the health and well-being of everyone who calls this place home. We\u2019ve got your back, and we know you have each other\u2019s.\u201d<br \/>\nSt. Luke\u2019s and the Foundation are partnering closely to shape the anniversary celebration, which will include events honoring hospital staff, donors, and the public.
