It\u2019s just that our expectations have been skewed by the intense seller\u2019s market over the past few years.<br \/>\nBut what you need to remember is: there\u2019s still plenty of opportunity to be had if you\u2019re thinking about selling \u2013 whether that\u2019s next month or next year. You just need to stay up to date on what\u2019s happening in the market, and have a strategy that matches the moment. Here\u2019s your update.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Inventory\u2019s Up. That doesn\u2019t mean buyers have all the power \u2013 it just means they have more\u00a0choices,\u00a0so your home has to\u00a0stand out.<br \/>\n<strong>No matter where you are, the key is to work with a pro who can help you adjust your game plan for your local market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. The Right Price Matters More Than Ever<\/strong><br \/>\nWith more homes to choose from, today\u2019s buyers are quick to skip over homes that feel overpriced. <strong>That\u2019s why pricing your house right is the secret to selling quickly and for top dollar<\/strong>. Danielle Hale, Chief Economist at\u00a0Realtor.com, says:<br \/>\n\u201cThe rising share of price reductions suggests that a lot of sellers are anchored to prices that aren\u2019t realistic in today\u2019s housing market.\u00a0Today\u2019s sellers would be wise to listen to feedback they are getting from the market.\u201d<br \/>\nThe best way to get that information? Lean on your local agent. They have the expertise to set a price that sells in any market.\u00a0<strong>Because if your price isn\u2019t compelling, it\u2019s not selling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Flexibility Wins Negotiations<\/strong><br \/>\nGone are the days of buyers waiving inspections and appraisals just to get a deal done. This isn\u2019t a bad market. It\u2019s just a different one.\u00a0<\/strong>And it\u2019s in line with more normal years in the housing market, like back in 2019. The savviest sellers are the ones taking advantage of every opportunity to work with buyers and make their house shine.<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0And it\u2019ll help if you think of concessions as tools, not losses.<\/strong>\u00a0Use them to bridge gaps, sweeten deals, and get across the finish line.\u00a0And don\u2019t stress.
