{"id":22542,"date":"2025-07-09T01:48:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T07:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/?p=22542"},"modified":"2025-07-09T16:21:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T22:21:14","slug":"hunger-coalitions-summer-food-programs-in-full-bloom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/09\/hunger-coalitions-summer-food-programs-in-full-bloom\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunger Coalition\u2019s  Summer Food Programs in Full \u2018Bloom\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Nonprofit Offers Free Lunch For Families, Volunteers<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>BY Mark Dee<\/em><br \/>\nThe Hunger Coalition\u2019s summer lunch program continues its countywide tour through Aug. 21, offering free food for kids and their families until school comes back in session next month.<br \/>\nThe Bloom Truck runs Monday through Thursday each week, hitting a rotation of five stops.<br \/>\nThrough the first three weeks of its ninth season, the truck served 1,458 lunches to kids and their families in Carey, Bellevue, Hailey and Ketchum.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have had a fantastic turnout so far,\u201d said Youth Engagement Supervisor Chloe Lichtenberg in a statement.<br \/>\nThe Hunger Coalition is pairing up with other local nonprofits to offer activities at each stop. The Community Library\u2019s Bookmobile often runs in tandem with the Bloom Truck, allowing kids to check out summer reading. Help The Hunger Coalition grow fresh produce through its Volunteer for Veggies program\u2014and take some home for yourself.<br \/>\nThree times per week, volunteers can harvest crops in either Hailey or Bellevue. That food makes its way into The Hunger Coalition\u2019s Bloom Truck for kids to eat throughout the summer\u2014minus the share you\u2019re allowed to keep for your own kitchen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sessions are:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211;Mondays, 5:30-7 p.m. at The Hope Garden, S.
