The kids learned how to set up tents, prep the food and cook, share stories, and jump inside the hot springs. When talking about having adventure activities, three key values were practiced: building courage, respect for all, and personal responsibility. Also, leadership development, environmental stewardship and family engagement were key components. Thirteen youth participated from the middle school\u201412 boys and one courageous young lady. We have a total of 26 participants. These young people haven\u2019t experienced this kind of opportunity before so they are truly thankful and jazzed. The parents are very supportive and committed to making sure their kids fully understand the value of this program. Mrs. Hailey, the counselor at Wood River Middle School, has been instrumental in making this happen, which meant organizing this group. The key was reaching out to the teachers, parents and, of course, the youth, and having the opportunity to hear the program, ask\u00a0questions and have input. We are all truly thankful for this process and the progress of this program. Idaho Base Camp has done an extraordinary job of reaching out to the Hispanic community through the Outdoor Hispanic Leaders and the explorers program. Aprendieron a montar tiendas de campa\u00f1a, preparar la comida y cocinar, compartir historias y saltar al interior de las aguas termales. Hablando de tener actividades de aventuras. Se practicaron 3 valores clave: generar coraje, respeto por todos y responsabilidad personal. Adem\u00e1s, el desarrollo de liderazgo, el cuidado del medio ambiente y el compromiso familiar son componentes clave. Participaron 13 j\u00f3venes de todas las edades de la escuela secundaria, 12 ni\u00f1os y 1 joven valiente. Los padres son un gran apoyo y est\u00e1n comprometidos a asegurarse de que sus hijos comprendan completamente el valor de este programa. La Sra. Hailey, la consejera de W.R.M.S, ha sido fundamental para que esto suceda, es decir, para organizar este grupo.
