The publication is a guide that showcases the attributes of all the communities in the Wood River Valley and is distributed throughout the region and mailed out to potential visitors across the country.
The Eddie Awards are considered the most prestigious in the publishing community and are open to a wide range of publications, ensuring that both editorial and design talents receive recognition for their contributions to the industry. They honor editorial excellence and recognize outstanding editorial content across various formats, including articles, essays, and entire issues in both print and digital media. Eddie Awards are given in numerous categories that cover a wide range of topics, from news coverage to podcasting and comprehensive issue presentations. Glick + Fray’s publication, Discover the Wood River Valley, won in the category of Full Issue – City & Regional, Northwest. It also received honorable mention for Series of Articles – City & Regional.
Firm owner, Nancy Glick, recently traveled to New York City to accept the award during the Eddie/Ozzie awards gala on October 22. She remarked, “This is an incredible honor and I’m so proud of my team and myself for winning this award. As a small office, it speaks volumes that our work has been recognized along with large major publications like Travel & Leisure, Better Homes & Gardens, Real Simple, Wine Enthusiast, and Science News. It’s a big deal to win for the full issue since there are many categories that honor just individual segments of a publication, so we could not be more thrilled.” Glick noted that this honor is not just for her agency, it also belongs to her client, Mike McKenna, the executive director of The Valley Chamber, and editor of the publication.
Glick started her award-winning agency, which specializes in web, graphic design, publishing, and digital content for local and national clients, in 2010 originally under the name of The Pixel Bakery. But she has a long family history of design and publishing. Her grandfather, George T. Harrison, started a newspaper in Silverdale, Washington, called the Silverdale Breeze that was published from 1945–1967. Her mother, Sara, and grandmother, Zoe, helped set the type. “I remember my mom used to tell me as a little girl that I would end up making magazines. We would sit together, and she would draw me pictures and look at all the fabulous magazines together,” Glick recalled. “It was so fun to receive this honor in New York City. The last time I was there was 32 years ago. My mom and I went when I got my first publishing industry job at the Wood River Journal. I even got a sterling silver business card holder at Tiffany’s with my initials on it. I carried it with me last week when I accepted my award. I know my parents and grandparents, all deceased, were looking down on me with pride.”

Design firm wins top national Eddie publishing award for 2023 Discover the Wood River Valley guide By Carol Waller Glick + Fray, a boutique graphic design agency based in Bellevue, Idaho, took home top honors at the 2024 Eddie Awards for their creation of the 2023 Discover the Wood River Valley guide, produced for their […]

[70,38

0":"post-21695","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-chamber-corner","8":"category-sponsored
["GET
