With nearly 20% more players than last year, the SVPC has become one of Idaho\u2019s premier pickleball events, with players traveling from 13 states across the country. Matches will be fun and competitive!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, with over 35 million people trying pickleball last year, surpassing participation in tennis, basketball, football and golf. This massive wave of popularity is because pickleball is easy to play and fun to learn, very social, and can be played whether you\u2019re 9 or 90!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sun Valley Pickleball Classic categories include: Men\u2019s &amp; Women\u2019s Singles, Men\u2019s &amp; Women\u2019s Doubles &amp; Mixed Doubles, Social &amp; Youth, across a range of ages and skill levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, the SVPC is very proud to announce the introduction of a new player category: youth aged 11-17, from local schools in the Wood River Valley.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are excited and enthusiastic that this year will be our best tournament and largest yet,\u201d said Lee Sponaugle, President, Wood River Pickleball Alliance. \u201cWe have received amazing support from our local community, including Sun Valley Resort, to be able to host such a large event.
