The fourth annual Cesar Chavez event is coming up on March 31 at the Liberty Theatre. Eduardo Chavez, Cesar Chavez\u2019s grandson, will be doing a presentation through Zoom before the screening of his film, \u201cHailing Cesar\u201d talking about the film and the importance of the work Cesar Chavez did.<\/p>\n

Born in 1927, Cesar Chavez was a labor leader and civil rights activist alongside Dolores Huerta who made a powerful appearance last year at the Wood River High School.\u00a0 <\/span>He co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers labor union after merging with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee. Cesar Chavez died in 1993.<\/p>\n

This event is in partnership with PROJECTOOLSUCCESS, The Crisis Hotline in Idaho, the Liberty Theatre Company. This event will also promote Earth Day alongside the Climate Action Coalition and the transfer station to coordinate a community service event.<\/p>\n

El cuarto evento anual de C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez se llevar\u00e1 a cabo el 31 de marzo en el Liberty Theatre. Eduardo Ch\u00e1vez, nieto de C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez, estar\u00e1 haciendo una presentaci\u00f3n virtual antes de la proyecci\u00f3n de su pel\u00edcula, \u201cHailing Cesar\u201d hablando sobre la pel\u00edcula y la importancia del trabajo que hizo C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez.<\/p>\n

Nacido en 1927, C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez fue un l\u00edder sindical y activista de derechos civiles junto a Dolores Huerta, quien hizo una poderosa aparici\u00f3n el a\u00f1o pasado en la escuela secundaria Wood River.
