In the nearly three decades since joining Wood River Fire & Rescue as a firefighter, paramedic and, eventually, captain, I have worked to protect my fellow citizens \u2014 even when that has meant putting myself in physical danger \u2014 because I believe that there is nothing more important than the health and safety of Idahoans.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My opponent has said that she\u00a0cannot\u00a0represent Blaine County and I agree with her. But I do\u00a0not<\/i>\u00a0agree with her when she says that she cannot<\/i> see the common interests between Blaine, Lincoln and Jerome counties.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These three counties have a great many shared goals. On behalf of all members of these communities, I want to protect:<\/span><\/p>\n

Quality education for our children\u00a0<\/b>\u2013 let\u2019s\u00a0lead,\u00a0not trail, the nation<\/span><\/p>\n

Access to public lands<\/b>\u00a0for hunting, fishing, recreation and tourism<\/span><\/p>\n

Preservation and management of Idaho\u2019s water resources<\/b>\u00a0to sustain our agricultural heritage and recreational riches<\/span><\/p>\n

Our standard of living<\/b> \u2013\u00a0access to housing and ability to afford that housing with local jobs<\/span><\/p>\n

The freedoms of all Idahoans<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 including the freedom to make decisions about our bodies, marry who we want to marry, and build the families we choose<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When somebody\u2019s house is on fire or they are experiencing a medical emergency, I and my colleagues put aside any differences we might have and solve the problem in front of us.
