Nearly one out of every four Idaho residents suffer from some form of mental illness. These stark facts make widespread communication and action around youth mental health more important than ever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On Wednesday, Oct. 5 starting at 6 p.m., St. Luke\u2019s invites Blaine County community members to a free 30-minute screening of the Ken Burns documentary, Hiding in Plain Sight: Youth Mental Health, followed by a facilitated community discussion on youth mental health and the role we can all play in supporting our young residents. The documentary follows the journeys of 20 young Americans throughout the country from all walks of life, who have struggled with thoughts and feelings that have troubled\u2014and, at times\u2014overwhelmed them. The documentary also highlights the hope, resources and effective treatment that many have found while living with a mental health disorder. No RSVP is required to attend this event, but the content and discussion are <span class=\"s1\">best suited for those high school-aged and older.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Improving mental health and reducing suicide was identified by the St. Luke\u2019s 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) as one of the top three significant health needs in Blaine County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">St. Luke\u2019s is hosting these community youth mental health sessions as part of its commitment to reducing the stigma around seeking mental health treatment and improving access to mental health services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Blaine County Event Details:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">What: Free 30-minute screening of the Ken Burns documentary, Hiding in Plain Sight: Youth Mental Health and a community conversation.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">When: Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Where: Community Campus, Minnie Moore Room, 1050 Fox Acres Road, Hailey.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">No RSVP is required to attend this event, but the content and discussion are best suited for those high school-aged and older.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Episodes of the Hiding in Plain Sight documentary are available for viewing at https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/show\/hiding-plain-sight-youth-mental-illness\/<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s2\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><i>It\u2019s your life<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s2\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><i>We help you live it<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Event planned for Wednesday, Oct. 5, 6 p.m. at Community Campus in Hailey Ketchum \u2013 Idaho ranks 50th among states with a higher prevalence of youth mental illness and lower rates of access to care.
