The program, which took place at Bellevue Elementary, featured mornings focused on math and literacy sessions instructed by BCSD certified teachers, literacy experts from the Lee Pesky Learning Center, and instructional assistants from the College of Idaho. In the afternoons, YMCA camp staff led enrichment sessions with support from the I Have A Dream Foundation. BCSD provided transportation and lunch each day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to SummerBridge, the district, in partnership with the I Have A Dream Foundation and the Environmental Resource Center, held summer learning programs for middle and high school students at Wood River High School. In total, BCSD served over 300 students at the elementary, middle and high school level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis program would not be possible without our community partners, and we wanted to take this opportunity to formally express our gratitude,\u201d said James Foudy, BCSD superintendent. \u201cOn behalf of the entire BCSD community, we want to thank everyone who contributed to the SummerBridge program this year.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BCSD would like to recognize the following organizations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I Have A Dream Foundation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teach For America<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">College of Idaho<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sun Valley Community School<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YMCA<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lee Pesky Learning Center<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bellevue Elementary School<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BCSD Transportation Department<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">District office staff<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paraprofessionals, teachers, and the Board of Trustees also made significant contributions to the success of the program, said Foudy.
