{"id":18423,"date":"2022-08-10T00:29:54","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T00:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/?p=18423"},"modified":"2022-08-09T19:32:47","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T19:32:47","slug":"artivismovement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/index.php\/2022\/08\/10\/artivismovement\/","title":{"rendered":"ARTIVISMOVEMENT!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><em>BY MONICA CARRILLO<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>OUR VOICE COUNTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Intense thunderstorm goes through the Colorado Gulch Preserve, giving the full experience to John Zender Estrada, L.A. muralist, as he outlines canvas for the Wood River Land Trust. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Estrada arrived Thursday night, Aug. 4, ready to make moves with his first mural on Friday morning with H Property Service, Saturday with the Wood River Land Trust, and La Caba\u00f1ita on Sunday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">On Saturday, the canvas for the Wood River Land Trust was extremely interactive, with staff members, children, and others circling around, helping Estrada create the canvas and also admiring as all colors came to life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Many children gained the confidence to join Estrada paint the canvas with his words of encouragement as he asked for help with the colors of the sunset. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNo painting is perfect, it\u2019s all different,\u201d Estrada stated, as a young child blended colors of pink and blue of what would be the sky near the Colorado Gulch Preserve. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">They also joked about how crazy the storm was and almost felt like it was part of the process. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe storm kept coming and coming,\u201d Herbert Romero, community organizer, said while laughing and describing the intensity of the storm, \u201cbut it felt special.
