{"id":18349,"date":"2022-07-27T00:33:11","date_gmt":"2022-07-27T00:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/?p=18349"},"modified":"2022-07-26T18:50:28","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T18:50:28","slug":"bccfunding-the-need","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/index.php\/2022\/07\/27\/bccfunding-the-need\/","title":{"rendered":"BCCFUNDing The Need"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">BY MONICA CARRILLO<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>OUR VOICE COUNTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Blaine County Charitable Fund (BCCF) has taken on an agreement with the Idaho Housing &amp; Finance Association (IHFA) to administer and assist with their Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">BCCF has made an agreement alongside IHFA for the summer, or potentially longer, to assist with applications for their Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). This would include such situations of current or past experiences of direct or indirect COVID impact. Direct impacts could be loss of income due to illness or quarantining, reduced hours\/wages, or inability to work due to lack of childcare, while indirect impacts can include market conditions causing increased food and transportation costs, work layoffs, and increased housing costs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cEviction cannot only cause a financial hardship when a family has to quickly come up with $3000-$5000 to get into new housing (if it\u2019s located), but also it\u2019s traumatic on the mental and physical wellbeing of all involved,\u201d Mary Fauth, executive director of BCCF, said. \u201cAny help we can give to lessen this impact goes a long way in avoiding down-the-line costs to the community, such as welfare and education costs, potential loss of housing stock, healthcare and law enforcement costs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Additionally, BCCF will continue to help with any other unforeseen crises that a household may experience.
