Mayor Neil Bradshaw said the city council is set to approve the purchase for $8 million\u2014all of it financed by more than 1,000 private donations, and a matching gift here and there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOf course, this opportunity would never have been imaginable without the vision and\u00a0 generosity of the Preserve\u2019s owner, Bob Brennan,\u201d Bradshaw said. \u201cI also want to recognize the Spur Community Foundation, which has been a wonderful and trusted partner in managing the donations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the City of Ketchum has raised enough to cover the purchase of the land, it remains $1 million short\u2014the tab for the first phase of infrastructure upgrades.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSo we will continue to accept donations for a little longer,\u201d Bradshaw explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All donations over $1,000 will be recognized on a donor wall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on community input, Ketchum leaders have committed to the following priorities for Warm Springs Preserve:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passive park for Open Space in perpetuity<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Off-leash Dog Access<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Informal Activities (i.e., frisbee golf, dog walking)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Informal Gatherings (i.e., picnics)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nordic Trail<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public Restroom<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Restoration of Warm Springs Creek and its Riparian Zone and Floodplain Connector Trail<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New Irrigation System to Preserve Water\/Reduce Maintenance Costs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The more than year-long effort to keep 65 acres of open space at Warm Springs Ranch in Ketchum open space forever has paid dividends.
