With another round of DACA Awareness Events at the University of Idaho in full swing this fall semester, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and I are proud to present keynote speaker, Karina Ruiz de Diaz.<\/p>\n
Ruiz de Diaz, executive director of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for immigrant rights, will be joining us as a keynote speaker through Zoom on Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., MST, to talk about her journey advocating for immigrant rights and the experiences she has endured.<\/p>\n
I was able to meet Ruiz de Diaz on both of my trips to Washington, D.C., in early April and October, and the ambition she holds and the stories she expresses are continuously inspiring, which is why I didn\u2019t hesitate to ask if she could join us for DACA Awareness Events.<\/p>\n
At 7 p.m., after the webinar, Ruiz de Diaz will be doing a workshop, also virtually, about the ins and outs of organizing.<\/p>\n
Although it will be hosted through the university, both events are available to anyone who would like to join.<\/p>\n

Con otra ronda de Eventos de Conciencia de DACA en la Universidad de Idaho este semestre de oto\u00f1o, la Oficina de Asuntos Multiculturales y yo estamos orgullosos de presentar a Karina Ruiz de Diaz.<\/p>\n
Ruiz de D\u00edaz, directora ejecutiva de Arizona Dream Act Coalition, una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro dedicada a apoyar por los derechos de los inmigrantes, se unir\u00e1 a nosotros como oradora a trav\u00e9s de Zoom el 17 de noviembre a las 5 p.m. MST hablando sobre su viaje luchando por los derechos de los inmigrantes y las experiencias que ha soportado.<\/p>\n
Pude conocer a Ruiz de D\u00edaz en mis dos viajes a Washington DC, a principios de abril y octubre, y la ambici\u00f3n que tiene, las historias que expresa, son continuamente inspiradoras, por lo que no dud\u00e9 en preguntar si podr\u00eda unirse a nosotros para los eventos de concientizaci\u00f3n sobre DACA.<\/p>\n
A las 7 p.m., despu\u00e9s del webinar, Ruiz de D\u00edaz estar\u00e1 haciendo un taller, tambi\u00e9n virtualmente, sobre los pormenores de la organizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Aunque se llevar\u00e1 a cabo a trav\u00e9s de la universidad, ambos eventos est\u00e1n disponibles para cualquier persona que desee unirse.<\/p>\n
