Dear readers,<\/span><\/p>\n

We are excited to share that we had our first annual Carey Hispanic Heritage Festival this past Saturday, Sept. 25, at Itty bitty Farms in Carey.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are so grateful to the event coordinator and resident Berenice Crowder\u2014she was instrumental in making it happen!<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, our host, Itty Bitty Farms, a family-owned business, jumped on board and created a safe and fun environment. Families with children came and had a great time playing, dancing and, most of all, having an empowering cultural experience. <\/span><\/p>\n

Vendors from different colleges also were able to highlight their programs. Boise State University was one of those institutions and was thankful for the event and the opportunity to share with community members.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Community Table (a student-led and staff mentor made up of Sun Valley Community School and Wood River High School students, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and I have a Dream Foundation members) were able to sponsor the food. It was an eye-opening experience seeing these youth leaders interacting with the children and their families enjoying music of all cultures. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Hispanic\/Latinx community in Carey is growing, and it was key to move forward with this festival. A diverse group of the community showed up to show support and that\u2019s what this festival was all about, like how the [Blaine County] Sheriff\u2019s Office was acknowledged and received a plaque for their achievements; specifically, building better relationships with the Hispanic community. <\/span><\/p>\n

Nos complace mencionar que tuvimos nuestro 1er Festival Anual de la Herencia Hispana de Carey el pasado s\u00e1bado 25 de septiembre en Itty bitty Farms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estamos muy agradecidos con la Coordinadora del Evento y residente Berenice Crowder, ella fue fundamental para que esto sucediera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, nuestro anfitri\u00f3n Itty Bitty Farms, una empresa familiar, se subi\u00f3 a bordo y cre\u00f3 un ambiente seguro y divertido. La familia con sus hijos vino y se lo pas\u00f3 muy bien jugando, bailando y, sobre todo, tuvo una experiencia cultural empoderadora.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los proveedores de diferentes universidades tambi\u00e9n pudieron destacar sus programas. La Universidad Estatal de Boise fue una de esas instituciones y agradeci\u00f3 el evento y su oportunidad de compartir con los miembros de la comunidad.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Mesa Comunitaria (un mentor dirigido por estudiantes y personal, compuesto por estudiantes de Sun Valley Community School y Wood River High School, Neighbors Helping Neighbors y miembros de I have a Dream Foundation) pudieron patrocinar la comida. Fue una experiencia reveladora ver a estos l\u00edderes juveniles interactuando con los ni\u00f1os y sus familiares disfrutando de la m\u00fasica de todas las culturas.<\/span><\/p>\n

La comunidad hispana \/ latina en Carey est\u00e1 creciendo, y fue clave para seguir adelante con este festival. Un grupo diverso de la comunidad se present\u00f3 para mostrar su apoyo y de eso se trataba este festival, como la forma en que el departamento del Sheriff fue reconocido y recibi\u00f3 una placa por sus logros, espec\u00edficamente la construcci\u00f3n de mejores relaciones con la comunidad hispana. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
