{"id":16683,"date":"2021-09-22T00:12:49","date_gmt":"2021-09-22T00:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/?p=16683"},"modified":"2021-09-21T19:14:58","modified_gmt":"2021-09-21T19:14:58","slug":"hispanic-festival-just-the-beginning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/index.php\/2021\/09\/22\/hispanic-festival-just-the-beginning\/","title":{"rendered":"Hispanic  Festival Just The Beginning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">BY MONICA CARRILLO<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>OUR VOICE COUNTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">With much anticipation, the Hispanic Heritage Festival arrived this year with a bang as families and friends reunited in Hailey on Saturday, Sept. 18, to celebrate their culture and others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">With activities for kids and entertainment for families throughout the day, it was amazing to see the scheduling play out so smoothly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Even though I wasn\u2019t able to attend in person, as I am currently studying at the University of Idaho, I was able to Facetime my mom to see the people of our community get down and enjoy a day of fun. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">A day like this is so important to be able to reflect on how much we have grown in Blaine County and be able to feel proud of where we come from. Not only that, but cherish gathering with others who might not be aware of certain cultural differences that we portray in our everyday lives. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">As Hispanic Heritage Month progresses, so do the events in Blaine County. This was just the beginning of fun, knowledge, entertainment and intimacy within our cultures and the community. Make sure to stay tuned on what\u2019s next!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>NUESTRA VOZ CUENTA<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Con la espera anticipada, el Festival de la Herencia Hispana vino este a\u00f1o con un bang mientras las familias y amigos se reun\u00edan el s\u00e1bado para celebrar su cultura y de otros el s\u00e1bado 18 de septiembre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Con actividades para ni\u00f1os y entretenimiento para familias durante todo el d\u00eda, fue incre\u00edble ver el plan de programaci\u00f3n sin problemas. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Aunque no pude asistir en persona ya que actualmente estoy estudiando en la Universidad de Idaho, pude llamarle por c\u00e1mara a mi madre para ver a la gente de nuestra comunidad bajar y disfrutar de un d\u00eda de diversi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Un d\u00eda como este es tan importante para poder reflexionar sobre lo mucho que hemos crecido en el Condado de Blaine y poder sentirnos orgullosos de donde venimos. No s\u00f3lo eso, sino que tambi\u00e9n lo apreciamos con otros que tal vez no sean conscientes de ciertas diferencias culturales que representamos en nuestra vida cotidiana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">A medida que progresa el mes de la herencia hispana, tambi\u00e9n lo hacen los eventos en el condado de Blaine.
