OUR VOICE COUNTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

With the fourth annual Hispanic Latin@x Heritage Festival coming up on Saturday, September 18, other events around the community will follow suit before and after as Hispanic Heritage Month approaches in the next couple of weeks. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Hispanic Latin@x Heritage Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Roberta McKercher Park in Hailey, with presentations, musical performances, pi\u00f1atas, activities and exhibits you won\u2019t want to miss. <\/span><\/p>\n

After I came out as undocumented and sang my song to the public a few times, I met Herbert Romero, who has organized this event every year, and who gave me the ability to sing my song at the first festival he had hosted. It was an honor to be able to participate in such a memorable and important event, not only for myself but for my culture and my story. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hispanic Heritage Month is crucial for those who have come to this country seeking more than what their home country can give them. The stories we tell our families in secret come out in bundles around this special time to celebrate our upcomings, our strengths, our triumphs, and overall the impact we have made in our own communities. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am amazed by the changes we have introduced and created in our communities of Blaine County and hope to see these events filled with people eager to learn and immerse themselves in a culture that isn\u00b4t familiar but worth being present for. <\/span><\/p>\n

Con el 4\u00ba Festival Anual de la Herencia Hispana Latina@X el 18 de septiembre, otros eventos alrededor de la comunidad seguir\u00e1n su ejemplo antes y despu\u00e9s a medida que se acerque el Mes de la Herencia Hispana en las pr\u00f3ximas semanas.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Hispanic Latin-x Heritage Festival ser\u00e1 el 18 de septiembre en Hailey en Roberta Mckercher Park de 11 a.m a 8 p.m. con presentaciones, actuaciones musicales, pi\u00f1atas, actividades y exhibiciones que no querr\u00e1 perderse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de que sal\u00ed como indocumentada y cant\u00e9 mi canci\u00f3n al p\u00fablico varias veces, conoc\u00ed a Herbert Romero, quien ha organizado este evento todos los a\u00f1os, y me dio la posibilidad de cantar mi canci\u00f3n en el primer festival que hab\u00eda organizado. Fue un honor poder participar en un evento tan memorable e importante no solo para m\u00ed, sino tambi\u00e9n para mi cultura y mi historia.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Mes de la Herencia Hispana es tan crucial para aquellos que han venido a este pa\u00eds buscando m\u00e1s de lo que su pa\u00eds de origen puede darles. Las historias que les contamos a nuestras familias en secreto salen en paquetes en este momento especial para celebrar nuestras pr\u00f3ximas fiestas, nuestras fortalezas, nuestros triunfos y, en general, el impacto que hemos tenido en nuestras propias comunidades.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estoy tan sorprendido por los cambios que hemos persuadido y desafiado en nuestras comunidades del Condado de Blaine y espero ver estos eventos llenos de personas ansiosas por aprender y sumergirse en una cultura que no es familiar pero por la que vale la pena estar presente.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
