The so-called Vulnerable Population Registry allows people to register a family member or friend living in Blaine County who is part of a vulnerable population, such as those who suffer from dementia, Alzheimer&#8217;s disease, mental illness, those with autism diagnosis, or other special needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specifically, individuals will be registered with the Sheriff\u2019s 911 Communications Record Management System and the information will be stored in a database maintained by the Blaine County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Blaine County Emergency Communications. If there is a call for service, the Vulnerable Population Registry provides vital information to police, fire, and paramedics as to the specific needs of those on the registry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf a first responder needs to interact with the registered individual, having detailed information can greatly impact finding people who are lost or having difficulties, and getting them the assistance they need or returning them home in a timely and safe manner,\u201d said Blaine County Sheriff Steve Harkins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The registry is voluntary and all information is confidential.
