The Hailey Public Library hosted two different discussions this summer for all community members to support expansion of Spanish-speaking books, resources and activities. <\/span><\/p>\n Kristin Fletcher, Programs & Engagement coordinatorr for the Hailey Public Library, was present at both these meetings, trying to help and reunite the Hispanic\/Latinx community to better their resources. After an hour or so of discussion with different community members, Kristin got more than three pages full of ideas of how the library can expand resources and Spanish books at the library.<\/p>\n Being an active library user at the Hailey Public Library, it was eye opening for me to hear the different ideas coming from others in the community. One individual said she would love to have more book choices at the library while I thought a movie week (all movies would be in Spanish) at Kiwanis Park [Balmoral] to connect with this group of community members would create a sense of presence and even get these individuals and families to feel more comfortable attending their activities, discussions and overall going in to their library.<\/p>\n I hope to continue to help with this discussion with the Hailey Public Library as I see it as a definite improvement for their resources.
