Bryce Angell – The outdoors has always been a large part of my life. My father was an outfitter and guide for 35 years and I was there to shoe and care for the horses and help him do the cooking. We took many great trips into the Yellowstone area. Even now that I\u2019m older, we still ride into the Tetons, Yellowstone and surrounding areas. My poems are mostly of personal experience. I am now retired and enjoying life to the fullest. I plan to do more riding and writing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

My wife and I are country folks. We live a simple life. We don\u2019t need many frills to keep us husband and a wife.<\/p>\n

Our home and land were host of a reception for a night. We hoped the guests would feel at home, enjoy our pleasing site.<\/p>\n

For weeks we made the preparations, cleaning up the land. We brought in His and Her privies and placed them right at hand.<\/p>\n

The assembly of a big white tent took danged near most a day.\u00a0 <\/span>And for us country people, a magnificent display.<\/p>\n

The big white tent accommodated a hundred guests and more. This country boy had never seen a bash like this before.<\/p>\n

The florist packed in flowers. Looked like bucketfuls to me. There were bouquets, bunches, centerpieces and sprays laid out to see.<\/p>\n

The food was catered, and I\u2019d say the best I\u2019ve ate so far. The DJ and his music sounded like a country star.<\/p>\n

There were seven groomsmen, six bridesmaids, all decked out to the tee.\u00a0 <\/span>And the bride and groom were beautiful. Their faces beamed \u201cHappy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The night seemed almost fairytale when all the lights were lit. An evening full of memories. Yet, one thing I must admit.<\/p>\n

I call myself conservative and some say \u201cJust plain cheap.\u201d \u2018Cuz I like to save a dollar when the price is looking steep.<\/p>\n

My wife and I were married by a Justice of the Peace. Our neighbor baked a cake. We didn\u2019t have grand niceties.<\/p>\n

I know that seems a bit extreme to receptions of this day. But if you\u2019re careful you\u2019ll have cash to spend a lasting way.<\/p>\n

So, try to save some money when it\u2019s time to take your vows.\u00a0 <\/span>With the money that you\u2019ve saved you now can buy yourself some cows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
