Those results were more than enough to trigger a single, pledged gift of $50,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buddy Wilton and his wife, Shay Doll, pledged a gift of $50,000 if employees and providers each reached 80% or greater participation levels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI am touched and inspired by the generosity of our St. Luke\u2019s employees. They continuously step up to support initiatives to provide exceptional care to our community as well as to lend a hand to their colleagues in a time of need,\u201d said Foundation Chief Development Officer Megan Tanous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee giving donations contributed to employee funds that support fellow employees for emergency medical expenses and for personal emergency expenses, staff education, for CSI Blaine County Healthcare Scholarship and for community programs such as compassionate care and scholarships for mammography, mental health, and lymphedema.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One employee expressed the difference that generosity made in the life of his family:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLast year my daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis, with three acute curvatures in her spine. With our savings account depleted and no other short-order financial options available, the Pat &amp; Carol McLaughlin fund stepped in and paid the balance for the necessary back brace to stop the scoliosis from progressing,\u201d the employee, who wished to remain unidentified, said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHaving this funding set up in the Wood River Foundation to assist employees and families with emergent medical needs was a Godsend.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Luke\u2019s Wood River Foundation completed its annual Employee Giving Campaign, Stronger Together, with 82% of St. Luke\u2019s Wood River employees participating and physicians reaching a historic milestone with 90% contributing.
