Glenn, who has served as principal for the past nine years, has been the driving force behind the school\u2019s successes and achievements, including significant increases in graduation rates and academic growth, the Blaine County School District said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHis leadership, combined with a staff that focuses on making personal connections, has allowed SCHS to become a shining example of best practices in using a competency-based secondary education model,\u201d BCSD stated in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before arriving at SCHS, Glenn spent seven years as a teacher and coach at Wood River High School. Prior to that, he served for 21 years as a teacher and coach in the Meridian School District, now known as the West Ada School District.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere is no question that the school has reached even greater heights under his leadership. We are sad to see him go, but we wish him the very best in his retirement,\u201d said Fritz Peters, interim superintendent of the Blaine County School District.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peck was hired in Blaine County in 1994, and served as a vice-principal at Wood River High School, and principal at Carey since 2001.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMr. Peck has been very committed to the Leader in Me program and developed Carey School into a Lighthouse School as identified by their strong mentorship program. He has always put student achievements above all else and he is a great advocate for the kids and their successes,\u201d said Peters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">District administration has already begun the process to find the next principals of SCHS and Carey School.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Silver Creek High School Principal Mike Glenn and Carey School Principal John Peck have both announced that they will retire at the end of the 2020-21 school year.
