This event is free and open to the community. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to read Markham\u2019s best-selling book \u201cPeaceful Parent, Happy Kids: How to Stop Yelling and Start Connecting\u201d in advance of the discussion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Guests can go to communityschool.org\/news\/events for the Zoom link to join the meeting. The Book + Speaker Series is a new program offered by the Parents\u2019 Association. New York Times best-selling author Jessica Lahey spoke in December and Dr. Michele Borba is scheduled for April 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Published in 2012, Markham\u2019s book is a guide to raising responsible, capable, happy kids based on the latest research on brain development and extensive clinical experience with parents. Markham\u2019s core message: Fostering emotional connection with your child creates real and lasting change.
