{"id":13462,"date":"2020-03-31T23:21:58","date_gmt":"2020-04-01T05:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/?p=13462"},"modified":"2020-03-31T23:21:58","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T05:21:58","slug":"ketchum-asks-residents-to-check-on-neighbors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/woodriverweekly.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/31\/ketchum-asks-residents-to-check-on-neighbors\/","title":{"rendered":"Ketchum Asks Residents to Check on Neighbors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Ketchum Asks Residents to Check on Neighbors<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">KETCHUM, Idaho \u2013 There is no time like the present to keep in touch with your neighbors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a regular, coronavirus pandemic day, restaurants, grocery stores and pharmacies continue to generously offer take-out and delivery for their customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While people are able to get food and prescriptions, it\u2019s equally important to keep in communication with friends, family and neighbors who are sheltering in place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some residents, who may be elderly or living on their own, may be more vulnerable to the effects of the virus and become too sick to call for help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur EMS team and police recently responded to a residence after receiving a call from a neighbor,\u201d said Ketchum Fire Chief Bill McLaughlin. \u201cThe call to 911 from this conscientious neighbor allowed us to get the patient to the hospital.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are the type of situations when neighbors can check in with a quick phone call, and potentially save a life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0A<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t the very least, it will add a smile and make someone\u2019s day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI can\u2019t thank everyone enough for all they\u2019re doing to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our town,\u201d said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. \u201cAnd I know it\u2019s not too much to ask of this wonderful community to remember our neighbors.
