My name is Jan Murray, and I met Herbert and Maricruz Romero at the Flourish Foundation volunteer training, nearly two years ago. We have common values and commitments to bridging our two cultures, and we volunteer at one anothers’ events. Today, Herbert has given me this space to introduce to you our new elementary school mental health and social support group being offered at Syringa Mountain School.

The program, called ‘My Life Matters,’ is being sponsored by the Crisis Hotline of Idaho, under the direction of Tammy Davis, executive director. We’ve been in the school a few weeks now, and the kids are fabulous. The Syringa staff offers us backing that is receptive and supportive. They have actually performed the work we’re doing, and have personal experience implementing similar outreach programs in higher education circles. They express deep appreciation for what we’re offering.

To learn more about what we’re doing, please check the Crisis Hotline website: www.thecrisishotline.org, and click on Programs, to learn more about this life-changing curriculum, and even make a donation to help us continue our work of giving our youth tools and a voice in their emotional health and well-being. We are certain that children will benefit greatly from learning tools for personal development, and their participation in these groups will enhance their lives forever.

Thank you so much, again, to the Romeros and to Kiki Tidwell, for this moment to connect with you.

NUESTRA VOZ CUENTA

Aloha a mi maravillosa comunidad, con un agradecimiento especial por esta oportunidad de mostrar nuestra última contribución comunitaria.
